My favorite summer engagement is graphic recording the Natural Hazards Workshop at CU Boulder.

Each year at this 3-day event we ask participants to answer a prompt question then use their answers to create a Community Mural.  This year the question was "As A Hazards And Disasters Community, What Is The Story We Need To Tell The World Right Now"?

One month later I'm still contemplating the answers this community of passionate researchers and practitioners came back with.  Their optimism and hope for a better future for our planet was particularly inspiring.

This mural is a lot to take in with many different ideas and inspirations.  For me, it all comes down to connection:

• Connect with your community
• Connect with nature
• Connect with youth

By connecting and working together there's hope that we will adapt and thrive in this changing world.
