Improve Your Flip Charts With These Simple Drawing Tips

In the past I’ve shared tips on drawing simple people and vehicles.  This month I want to share a few tips for improving flip charts by adding a banner, flag, or scroll to highlight a title or a list.  These simple containers will help people to quickly identify hierarchy and differentiate ideas.

Let’s start with how to draw a banner:

Another easy container is a flag:

A scroll is a simple way to contain an important list:

When I graphic record in front of an audience, people often approach me to say they can’t draw at all.  Drawing is a skill that anyone can learn if they want to, and it’s one worth developing in a world of rapid change.  After all, a picture speaks a thousand words - and fast!
